Raze Sanjauli mosque: Shimla court
• Shimla Municipal Corporation’s court ruled all five floors of the disputed Sanjauli mosque unauthorised and ordered its demolition.
• Residents and Hindu outfits had agitated for the mosque’s demolition for 15 years, but no action was taken by the corporation.
• The court ordered the demolition of the top three “unauthorised” storeys and requested the Waqf Board to produce sanctioned plans for the remaining two storeys.
• Advocate Jagat Pal argued the board failed to produce land ownership documents and the sanctioned building plan.
• The Himachal Pradesh High Court directed the case to be decided by May 8.
