    • The State government’s counsel argued that detentions were only initiated after declaring them foreigners and explaining the deportation mechanism.

    • The court expressed displeasure over the Assam government’s claim that the affidavit was confidential and should be sealed.

    • The court directed surprise visits at the Matia transit camp for foreigners to check the facility’s hygiene and food quality.
