SC orders Ajit Pawar to use ‘clock’ symbol.
• The Supreme Court has directed Ajit Pawar to comply with earlier directions to inform voters about his ownership of the NCP’s ‘clock’ symbol.
• The orders were issued in March and April, in the run-up to the Lok Sabha election.
• Sharad Pawar was barred from using his uncle’s photos in his poll campaigns.
• The court extended the orders to the Maharashtra Assembly election on Thursday.
• The dispute arose after Pawar and his uncle parted ways, with Pawar’s faction being recognized as the “real” NCP.
• Sharad Pawar appealed the EC decision, allowing his camp to contest under the name ‘Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar’ and the’man blowing turha’ symbol.
