“Shukl’s ISS Experience Benefits Gaganyaan Mission”
• V. Narayanan, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), believes Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla’s experience on the International Space Station (ISS) will be beneficial for India’s upcoming human spaceflight programme, Gaganyaan.
• The Indian side emphasized the importance of safety during the Axiom-4 mission, which was postponed due to a leak detected on the Falcon 9 rocket on July 10.
• The leak was corrected, and the launch took place on July 25.
• Shukla and his crew returned safely after 18 days on the ISS.
• Narayanan highlighted India’s significant role in the international space scene, citing the successful NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) mission.
