Supreme Court orders Manipur to report burned and looted properties

• The Supreme Court has directed the Manipur government to provide details of properties burnt, looted, and trespassed during the ethnic violence in May 2023.

• The court also sought information on criminal action against unauthorised occupants and steps taken by the State to make them pay occupation charges or mesne prots.

• The case is scheduled for hearing in the week commencing January 20.
