• T.J.S. George, a renowned journalist, biographer, and columnist, died at age 97 from age-related complications.

• He had recently undergone renal surgery and was hospitalized for a week prior to his passing.

• George was influential in Indian English journalism, noted for his incisive commentary and independent stance.

• He held prominent editorial roles both in India and internationally, authored many significant books, and was known for his weekly column ‘Point of View’ in The New Indian Express, which ran for 25 years until June 2022.

• Among his accolades, he received the Padma Bhushan in 2011 and the Rajyotsava Award in 2007 for his contributions to journalism and literature.
