Talks fail, Manipur highways remain blocked.
• The National Highways in Manipur remain blocked for the third day, preventing the “free movement” of all vehicles between the valley and hills.
• The Committee on Tribal Unity held a meeting with district administration officials in Kangpokpi, but no result was obtained.
• The Committee demands the government apologise for the March 8 violence and the resignation of Superintendent of Police Manoj Prabhakar.
• Kuki-Zo groups maintain the indefinite shutdown.
• Kuki-Zo civil society groups agreed to the smooth plying of Manipur State Transport buses on March 7, but only consented to the movement of “empty” buses.
• The movement of commercial goods vehicles through National Highways no. 2 and 37 has been halted since the March 8 violence.
