Telangana formalizes SC classification

• Telangana government notified implementation of the Scheduled Castes (Rationalisation of Reservations) Act.

• The state issued a gazette notification on April 14 for categorising Scheduled Castes into three groups.

• Telangana became the first state to operationalize Scheduled Castes classification after Supreme Court’s landmark judgment in August.
