The central government will undertake its next round of negotiations with farmers today.

• Farmers’ demands include a legal guarantee of MSP for crops, debt waiver, pension for farmers and farm labourers, no increase in electricity tariffs, withdrawal of police cases, and “justice” for victims of the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence.

• The Centre has scheduled a meeting in Chandigarh, following a previous meeting in Delhi.
