    The Centre claims that Aadhaar-based wage payment facilitates greater inclusion and efficiency.

    • The Ministry responded to a report by LibTech, highlighting high rate of worker deletion under the program.
    • The ABPS has been mandatory since January 1, with 84.8 lakh workers removed from the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) between April and September.
    • The Ministry credited benefits directly into bank accounts based on Aadhaar numbers, eliminating delivery layers.
    • As of October 26, 13.1 crore active workers, or 99.3% of the total number, are eligible for ABPS.
