• Recommendations made after intensive in-person and virtual interactions with candidates.

• High Courts include Delhi, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Patna, Gauhati, and Allahabad.

• Development comes amid judicial vacancy crisis and rising case pendency.

• Current working strength is 751 judges.

• A Special Bench allowed High Courts to appoint retired judges to alleviate backlog
