Trinamool Congress Wins Six West Bengal Assembly Constituencies

    • The Trinamool Congress (TMC) won all six byelections in West Bengal on November 13.

    • The ruling party retained Naihati, Haroa, Medinipur, Taldangra, and Sitai seats from the 2021 election.

    • The TMC also won the Madarihat seat from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

    • The victory comes after protests over the rape and murder of a doctor at Kolkata’s R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in August.

    • TMC’s victory indicates that the protests did not affect its electoral prospects.

    • The results are expected to be on the lines, with the BJP’s State unit stating they will win these seats in 2026.
