    • The Centre temporarily blocked the social media handles of TRT and Global Times, run by the Chinese Communist Party, to prevent the spread of “fake news”.

    • The news outlets were later accessible to readers.

    • China’s state-run Xinhua news agency was also blocked.

    • The Centre emphasized that news outlets must be impartial but if they neglect India’s view on Pakistan-based terrorism, action will be taken.

    • The Centre created a war room to monitor misleading content and news.

    • Action is taken only when certain outfits are seen spreading misleading news over a sustained period and appear biased in their content.

    • The Centre also noted that Turkish drones had not been of much help to Pakistan as India had successfully shot them down during the confrontation following Operation Sundoor.
