U.S. flight brings second batch of 116 deportees
• The second group of Indian citizens deported from the U.S. has arrived at Amritsar International Airport.
• The deportees, mostly aged between 18 and 30, are from various states including Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.
• Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann criticized the Centre for making Amritsar a “deport centre” and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of politics.
• The Punjab Police set up a Special Investigation Team to probe human trafficking and illegal migration after the first batch of migrants returned.
