• Manufacturers mix PVA molecules with water to prevent full stick.

• The water evaporates when the glue is spread, ensuring the PVA molecules stick to both surfaces and each other.

• The same glue trick works on stamps, but the back side of a stamp already has dried glue.

• A few drops of water separate the dried glue molecules, making them more dilute.
