Union Cabinet Approves Four Semiconductor Plants

• The Cabinet has approved four projects under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM).

• Two of the projects will be in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and one each in Punjab and Andhra Pradesh.

• The cumulative value of the projects is ₹4,594 crore.

• This brings the number of projects under the ₹76,000-crore mission to 10.

• The first chip from one of the previous six units is expected to be rolled out by the end of the year.

• The firms behind the four new projects are SiCSem, Continental Device India Private Limited, 3D Glass Solutions Inc., and Advanced System in Package (ASIP) Technologies.
