• Data on births registered in Bihar for 1998 and 1999 is unavailable.

• Birth certificates are among the 11 documents listed by the Election Commission for inclusion in voter rolls.

• The Ministry responded to a question by Communist Party of India-Liberation member Sudama Prasad.

• Citizenship can be acquired by birth, descent, registration, naturalization, or incorporation of territory.

• Eligibility criteria for acquisition and determination of citizenship are as per the Citizenship Act, 1955 and its rules.
