UPSC announces civil services test results, including three women in top five.
• The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the final results of the Civil Services Examination, 2024, recommending 1,009 candidates for appointment to the IAS, IFS, IPS, and other Central Services across India.
• Shakti Dubey of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, secured the first rank in the all-India exam.
• About 28% of the recommended candidates were women, with three of the top five candidates being women.
• Harshita Goyal, Dongre Archit Parag, Shah Margi Chirag, and Akash Garg were among the top five toppers.
• The recommended candidates will be appointed to different services based on the vacancies.
• The UPSC noted that there were 1,129 vacancies across the IAS, IFS, IPS, and Central Services Group A and Group B for this year.
• The UPSC noted that over 5.83 lakh students applied for the examination, out of which 14,627 qualified for the main examination.
• A total of 230 candidates were put on the reserve list, and 241 candidates were declared as provisional.
