Uttar Pradesh declares Maha Kumbh area as new district for 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela
• The temporary district, the 76th district of the State, will be known as Maha Kumbh Mela district.
• The decision is seen as a major administrative move to manage the upcoming religious event.
• The new district includes 67 villages from Prayagraj district, 25 revenue villages from Sadar tehsil, three from Sorav, 20 from Phulpur, and 19 from Kathana block.
• The U.P. government plans to transform Maha Kumbh into an eco-friendly event with app-based e-vehicle services and a luxury tent city.
• Over 2,000 Swiss cottage-style tents with five-star standards will be offered for accommodation from January 1 to March 5.
• The Maha Kumbh will be held in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26.
