Uttarakhand avalanche kills four workers
• Four civilian workers remain missing in Mana village, Uttarakhand, two days after an avalanche hit a Border Roads Organisation (BRO) building site.
• On the second day of rescue operation, 17 workers were brought out by the Indian Army and Indo-Tibetan Border Police, but four died of injuries.
• The road leading to the area is laden with about five feet of snow, making it difficult to reach.
• The Indian Meteorological Department predicts more snowfall and rainfall in the area over the next 24 hours.
• Army and Indian Air Force helicopters are being used for the rescue, with IAF plans to airlift a drone-based buried object detection system.
• Army sniffer dogs are also being deployed to search for the workers.
