Virtual Buildathon Contest for India’s Education Ministry

• Union Education Ministry invites students in Classes 6 to 12 across six lakh schools to participate in a virtual Buildathon contest.

• Students with ideas and products focusing on self-reliance, indigenous knowledge, and sustainability will be awarded a ₹1-crore prize pool.

• The initiative, launched by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, will kick off with a two-hour “live innovation event” on October 13.

• Students will submit their ideas and prototypes on the Buildathon portal, with winners selected at district, state, and national levels.

• The government will ensure maximum participation by distributing flyers with a registration QR code in all schools.

• Registration will open till October 6, with teachers having a week to prepare students.

• A panel of experts will select 1,000 district-level winners, 100 state-level winners, and 10 national-level winners, announced by January 2026.
