West Bengal’s Election Commission of India (EC) Disciplinary Actions
• West Bengal’s Chief Secretary, Manoj Pant, informs the EC that two of five officials targeted for alleged irregularities have been removed from electoral revision and election-related duties.

• The EC had directed the suspension of four officials in August for alleged irregularities in electoral roll preparation.
• West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee questioned the EC directive, stating she would not allow any State government official to be punished.
