Secure free movement on all Manipur roads: Shah
• Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level review meeting in New Delhi with top security officials.
• He directed authorities to ensure free movement of people on all roads across Manipur from March 8.
• Shah also directed early completion of fencing of Manipur’s border with Myanmar and the dismantling of the drug network.
• The meeting came a day after Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla extended the period for civilians to surrender looted and illegal weapons until March 6.
• Shah called for strict actions against anyone creating obstructions and directed the fencing work on both sides of Manipur’s International Border to be completed at the earliest.
• The Centre remained committed to restoring peace in the State.
