Nature’s fury leaves left a trail of destruction in Jammu and Kashmir
• Over 12 hours of stranded trucks and passenger vehicles along the Jammu-Srinagar highway in Ramban district, Jammu and Kashmir, have been buried under debris.
• Authorities launched a massive exercise to restore the critical highway, which was disrupted by cloudbursts, landslips, and flash floods due to incessant rain.
• Over 140 stranded vehicles were allowed to move to safer locations, and about 10 to 12 villages suffered varying degrees of damage.
• Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, instructed departments to expedite the restoration of water supply, power supply, and other public utilities.
• Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited Ramban district and stated that it will take around three days to restore traffic.
