Online Mock Interview Session with Krisanu Thakur , WBCS (Executive) Rank 6 , WBCS Group A in WBCS 2019 Examination. The mock interview was conducted in April – May 2021 & actual interview was held in April-May 2021. Due to Covid situation PSC had announced online interview. We tried to discuss every aspect of candidate’s life and suggest any addition alteration of the way of speaking, how to tackle tough questions, overall grooming etc. It was also probably first time that a psychologist was included in the board but he was not visible all the time as a rule of the game. After each interview there is separate feedback part in this same video in last 2/3 minutes.

| Questions & Answers discussed in actual interview : | 1)Where do you live? Ans – Howrah. 2)What is Howrah also known as? Why is it so? Ans – Glasgow of India, because of small industrial sectors. 3)Why do you want to come to civil service from engineering? 4)What is your preference? Ans – Executive. 5)Why do you want to come to executive? Ans – There is a scope of direct development here. 6) Suppose your father gave you some money and told that you have to arrange everything for your sister’s marriage. Write down 10 arrangements that you will do? Then I was passed to the next member, who asked me a lot of questions regarding police service. 7)Do you want to join Police service? Why? Ans – If I join police service then I would be able to easily handle some of the areas where I feel that there is a lack of authority. 8)What do you know about this service? Ans – I know about the administrative division , I know about the structure etc. Police work with law and order. 9)Do you believe in inter-directorate co-ordination? Ans – Yes sir. 10)What is the difference between urban police and rural police? Ans – Man management must be an important part for urban police. As the population is high here , hence pollution is also high and thus they have to look into this matter as well. 11)How will they solve these problems? Ans – Through community policing they have to aware the people that they should keep the surroundings clean. Then I was passed to the next member. 12)What is community policing? 13)Do you like sports? Ans – Yes sir , but only cricket. 14)You have the numbers , 2,3,4,5 , and you have + and = sings. Make a correct equation. Ans – 5+4=(3)2 15)What is Human Development Index? Then I was passed to the last member. 16)Should alcohol be banned? Ans – We should try and ban this but also a lot of revenue comes from this. 17)Then , as it is earns a lot of revenue then , many more outlets should be there. Ans – No , Sir , as it is a restricted item , so it wont feasible to make new and more outlets. Rather than that the tax on alcohol should be increased , so that it will earn more revenue as well as it will remain as a restricted item to everyone. 18)When was the last Panchayat Election held? Some more information , চেয়ারম্যানঃ কোথায় থাকো? হাওড়াকে ভারতের কি বেশ একটা বলা হয় বলতে পারবে? আমিঃ স্যার,হাওড়াকে ভারতের Glasgow বলা হয়। চেয়ারম্যানঃ বলা হয় কি কারণে? আমিঃ এখানেও ক্ষুদ্র শিল্প বিখ্যাত। চেয়ারম্যানঃ কি শিল্প বলতে পারবে? আমিঃ না স্যার। চেয়ারম্যানঃ তোমার স্কুল কোথায়,কলেজ কোথায়? ক্যাম্পাসিং এ চাকরি পাওনি? আমিঃ ক্যাম্পাসিং এ বসিনি স্যার। চেয়ারম্যানঃ কেন? আমিঃ I explained that I wasn’t comfortable with engineering and I felt that it was not my cup of tea. চেয়ারম্যানঃ তুমি তো excise এ রয়েছো। এখানে (executive) কোন্ কারণে আসতে চাও? আমিঃ I explained that here I can be involved in direct development and when I dreamt of becoming WBCS,I dreamt myself as an executive. চেয়ারম্যানঃ তোমাকে একটা বিয়ে বাড়ি আয়োজন করতে হবে,ধরো তোমার দাদার কি দিদির,কি কি পয়েন্ট ধরে আয়োজন করবে পর পর লিখে বলো। আমিঃ [ I told points like budget,hall,invitation cards but I forgot about priest (purahit).Chairman told,”আরে organised way তে ভাবতে হবে”] (Chairman passed the motion to next member) M1ঃ তুমি police কিছুটা পেছনে choice দিয়েছো? পেলে যাবে তো? কেন police এ আসবে? আমিঃ sir,আবগারি বিভাগে কাজ করতে গিয়ে এটুকু উপলব্ধি হয়েছে যে কিছু কিছু ক্ষেত্রে আমাদের police এর মতো preventive work করতে হলেও এখানে authority কম থাকে। আমি police এ গেলে সেই authority কাজে লাগাতে পারবো আর better way তে serve করতে পারবো। M1ঃ তাহলে কি তোমার মনে হয় excise এ এই কম ক্ষমতা হওয়াটা কোনো খামতি? আর তুমি কি এই পরিবর্তন করতে চাও? আমিঃ sir সকল service এ নিজস্ব এক্তিয়ার আছে এবং সমস্ত service একে ওপরের পরিপূরক হিসেবে কাজ করে। M1ঃ যে law গুলো বানানো হয় সেগুলোর প্রভাব কাদের ওপর পরে? আমিঃ common people এর উপর। M1ঃ ‘citizen of India’ বলা উচিত ছিল। আচ্ছা police সম্পর্কে কি জানো? আমিঃ sir,structure সম্পর্কে জানি। তাদের কাজের ধরন সম্পর্কে ও তারা আমার service এর ক্ষেত্রে অর্থাৎ excise-এ raid-এ আমাদের কিভাবে সাহায্য করে তা জানি। M1ঃ তাহলে কি তুমি inter departmental coordination এ বিশ্বাস করো? আমিঃ হ্যাঁ sir,পারস্পরিক সাহায্যের মাধ্যমেই আমরা সাফল্য পাই। M1ঃ আচ্ছা,তুমি তো শহরে থাকো,শহরের পুলিশের মধ্যে কি গুণ বেশি থাকা উচিত? আমিঃ sir,শহরে জনসংখ্যা বেশি। তাই crowd management ভালো করার সক্ষমতা থাকা উচিত আর পরিবেশ দূষণ আটকানোর জন্য সক্রিয় ভূমিকা নেওয়া উচিত,community policing এর মাধ্যমে মানুষকে বোঝানো উচিত। আমাদের দেশের সারকথা ‘বসুধৈব কুটুম্বকম’ যার মানে সমস্ত পৃথিবী আমাদের পরিবার ও বাড়ির মতো। তাই আমাদের এলাকাকেও বাড়ির মতো পরিস্কার রাখতে হবে। (M1 passed it to another member) M2ঃ community policing কি? HDI কি? আমিঃ answered. চেয়ারম্যানঃ 2,3,4,5,+,= এইগুলি দিয়ে একটা equation বানাও,কোনো সংখ্যা বা চিহ্ন দুবার ব্যবহার করবে না। আমিঃ 4+5=3^2 চেয়ারম্যানঃ very good. (chairman asked the next member to ask) M3ঃ তুমি excise এ আছো। তো মদের মতো দ্রব্য নিয়ে কাজ করা কি ঠিক? আমিঃ sir,আমাদের DPSP তে intoxicants বর্জন করতে বলা হয়েছে,তবে DPSP হল non justiciable আর WB govt এর এই area থেকে ভালো revenue earning হয়। M3ঃ তাহলে কি outlet বাড়ানো উচিত? আমিঃ sir,মদ restricted item,তাই এটা করা উচিত নয়। tax এর হার বাড়িয়ে রাজস্ব আয় এবং restriction দুটোই দেখা উচিত। M3ঃ WB তে লাস্ট পঞ্চায়েত ভোট কবে হয়? আমিঃ sir,sure নই,তবে 2017 মনে হয়। M3ঃ 2018.OK,your interview is over. |
