GROUP – A Groups of Services of WBCS Exam Group A B C D

(i) West Bengal Civil Service (Executive):
(PB-4A) Rs.15,600/- to 42,000/- + G.P. Rs. 5,400/-
Gross emoluments at the entry level : Rs.21,000/- besides D.A., M.A. and H.R.A. admissible as per rules.

Initially posted as Deputy Magistrate and Deputy Collector (DMDC) in sub-divisions/ district collectorate. When he is posted in a development block , he is Block Development Officer (BDO).

(ii) Assistant Commissioner of Revenue in the integrated West Bengal Revenue Service :
(PB-4A) Rs.15,600/- to 42,000/- + G.P. Rs. 5,400/-
Gross emoluments at the entry level : Rs.21,000/- besides D.A., M.A. and H.R.A. admissible as per rules.

Initially posted as Assistant Commissioner of Revenue.

(iii) West Bengal Co-operative Service:
(PB-4A) Rs.15,600/- to 42,000/- + G.P. Rs. 5,400/-
Gross emoluments at the entry level : Rs.21,000/- besides D.A., M.A. and H.R.A. admissible as per rules.

(iv) West Bengal Labour Service :

(v) West Bengal Food and Supplies Service :

Initially posted as Sub-Divisional Controller of Food & Supplies (SCFS). (In Kolkata/Howrah etc. cities etc they are called Rationing Officer).

(vi) West Bengal Employment Service [Except the post of Employment Officer (Technical)] :

The Hon’ble Government of West Bengal has taken a large step forward on 28.12.2017 by creating a new service West Bengal Revenue Service in WBCS Group A , amalgamating 4 existing services, namely:

1. WB Registration & Stamp Revenue Service 
2. WB Commercial Tax Service
3. WB Agricultural Income Tax Service
4. WB Excise Service

West Bengal Police Service : (PB-4A) Rs.15,600/- to 42,000/- + G.P. Rs. 5,400/- Gross emoluments at the entry level : Rs.21,000/- besides D.A., M.A. and H.R.A. admissible as per rules.

Initially posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in district head quarter or as Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) in Sub-Divisions or Assistant Commissioner of Police in Commisionerates like Howrah, Barrackpore, Siliguri.
